Methods to steer the skateboards

1 . Steering the board by leaning

Push the Skateboard and get a ride

Put your front foot on the board and give a push with your back foot against the ground. Give more than one push to get the adequate speed and place your back foot on the board.

Place your feet in the center of the board

Set your foot on bolts in this form that the trucks of skateboard board will attach to the deck. It will help to maintain your balance and speed in turning.

Keep your Balance

During steering, it’s essential to maintain your balance because all of your body weight becomes on one side of the board. It probably causes an imbalance. So during the turn try to bend your knees to lower the center of gravity.

Lean in the turning direction

For changing the direction of the skateboard rider, carry out the forward right turn by setting pressure on the toes and for the backside left turn put the pressure on the heels. This also maintains their balance.

Smooth Ground for Riding

It’s important to find a smooth place for skating. For comfortable riding, the parking lot is the best place.

2. Steering by Tail to Kick-Turn

For the kick turn, place your back foot on the tail of skateboard and give a little push, the nose of the skateboard turns up. Use your front foot to turn the board in different directions.

The steps in this method are as follows:

Give a slight movement to the board

Push against the ground using your back foot and start riding. It give you a little movement , and you can take the turn easily by shifting your body weight.

Place your feet in the Perfect Place

Here you place your back foot on the tail of the skateboard to get the turn when needed , as in the leaning method that puts the front foot rightly on the bolts of the board.

Put down the board Tail

Push down the board’s tail with the back foot and maintain your balance by distributing the body weight on both feet gently. This process needs a little movement to get the turn.

Swing the nose to turn the board

To turn in the desired direction you can divert the nose of the board. Set your lead foot on the front end and use the act of shoulder and hip to divert the nose.

This action will help you to carry out more sharp and forceful turns.

Change the Direction by using the front wheels

After completing the first turn put the pressure on the front wheels by lead foot to take the nose board down to the ground.

Why is my skateboard not steering?

If the deck of your skateboard incline , it means the truck is compress . It causes your board not to steer. You should loose your the trucks. If your board leans comfortably , then you need to tighten the trucks.

How to stop on a skateboard?

Put the tail downward sharply . It will turn up the front of the board and shift your body weight on the backside. It slows down the speed of the skateboard.
