How Often Do Skateboards Break

Many people believe that skateboards are built to last. However, the reality is that skateboards can break relatively easily. Depending on how often you skate and the type of terrain you skate on, your board could last anywhere from a few months to a few years.

There are several factors that contribute to how often skateboards break. For example, skating on rough terrain can put stress on the board and cause it to break sooner. If you are a heavier rider, your weight can also put a strain on the skateboard, causing it to break more easily. Additionally, if you do not take care of your board and keep it clean, it is more likely to break down over time.

If you are wondering how often skateboards break, the answer is that it depends on several different factors. However, with proper care and maintenance, your skateboard can last for years to come.

Skateboard Broken

How often do you guys break your decks?

I’ve only broken one in my life and it was because I rode it into a ditch at high speed. But that was after years of riding. I’m just curious how often this happens to people. Do you guys go through decks yearly? Every few months?

It varies depending on the person. From what I’ve seen, some people can go years without ever breaking a deck, while others seem to go through them fairly often. It just depends on how you ride and how lucky you are. I’ve known people who have ridden the same deck for years with no problems, and I’ve also known people who have had to replace their deck every few months. There isn’t any set answer.

Tips to avoid skateboard breakage

To avoid skateboard breakage, follow these tips:

  • Inspect your board regularly for any cracks, splits, or other damage.
  • Replace worn out parts, such as wheels and bearings, to keep your board in good condition.
  • Avoid riding in wet conditions, as this can cause the deck to warp and the wheels to slip.
  • Be careful when transporting your board, as the impact can cause damage. Use a skateboard bag or case for safe storage and travel.
  • Always warm-up and stretch before skating, as this can help prevent injury.
  • Wear proper safety gear, including a helmet, elbow and knee pads, and wrist guards, to help protect yourself in case of a fall.
  • Skate in areas that are free of obstacles and debris, and avoid skating in traffic.
  • Practice basic safety precautions and always skate within your skill level to help prevent accidents
