How Wide Should the Skateboard be

If you wear men’s sizes 6.5 to 9, start out with a deck width of 7 inches for the typical beginner skater. If your feet are larger than an entire hand span (about 36 mm) then we recommend getting decks between 8-9″.

How to choose the right width for your skateboard

When it comes to choosing the right width for your skateboard, there are a few things you need to take into consideration. First, think about your skill level. If you’re just starting out, it’s probably best to go with a wider board.

Once you get the hang of skateboarding, you can experiment with different widths to find what feels best for you. Just remember that the wider the board, the easier it will be to balance on; the narrower the board, the more difficult it will be.

Second, think about your skating style. If you’re into doing tricks and fancy footwork, you might want to go with a narrower board. On the other hand, if you’re just looking to cruise around and get from point A to point B, a wider board might be more your speed.

Finally, consider the width of the trucks (the metal axles that hold the wheels). The width of the trucks should be about 8.0 inches. If you’re unsure of what width to get, it’s probably best to start with a wider deck and narrower trucks.

No matter what width you choose, just remember to have fun and stay safe!

Why does width matter when choosing a skateboard?

The width of a skateboard is an important factor to consider when choosing the right board for you. The width of the deck (the part you stand on) should be somewhere between 7.5 and 8.5 inches, and the width of the trucks (the metal axles that hold the wheels) should be about 8.0 inches.

If you’re a beginner, it’s probably best to start with a wider deck and narrower trucks. Once you get the hang of skateboarding, you can experiment with different widths to find what feels best for you.

Just remember that the wider the board, the easier it will be to balance on; the narrower the board, the more difficult it will be. Choose the right width for your skill level and skating style, and you’ll be one step closer to shredding like a pro!

Is a wider skateboard better?

Some people prefer a wider skateboard because they feel more comfortable on them or have better stability when jumping down large gaps and stairs. Wider boards are also great for transportation since you can stand up straight with less difficulty!

How wide should a beginner skateboard be?

Are you a beginner skater looking for your first board? We recommend an 8″ width. This will give enough space between each skateboard wheel and provide ample stability as well!

If this doesn’t suit, consider 7-inch decks which can still accommodate most shoe sizes with ease, or 6-inch boards if they’re narrow enough to work well on tight spaces like stairs.”

Is 8.25 skateboard too big?

8.25″ skateboard is the ideal size for those who want to cruise around or do more technical tricks on their board, but 8-9 inches are needed if you prefer street skating with friends and having an all-day adventure in parks/pools because they’re wider than most other decks available nowadays (except maybe 7″).

Is a 7.75 skateboard a good size?

If you’re looking for an all-around, good-size skateboard to fit most styles of skating then the 7.75″ – the 8-inch range is perfect! It’s important that whatever board fits best in this period will work well with your riding style as well so do some research on what suits you best before making any decisions

Is an 8.25 skateboard good for beginners?

Beginners should go with an 8.25″ deck because it’s more stable than smaller decks and provides room for improvement as you learn tricks! A wider board will also help keep your balance,

so this might be better if taking up skateboarding becomes part of life rather than just fun times spent at the park or driveway.

What is a good size skateboard for adults?

When you’re looking for the perfect board, it’s important to keep your size in mind. A great choice is a narrow deck with decks between 7-9 inches wide and weighing less than 30 pounds!

The perfect size is between 7 and 8 inches. Youth riders will want a narrow deck, while adults need something more middle-sized like an 8″ width to do technical tricks on street terrain or enjoy parks with rails as well as stairs (though these may be hazardous).

What size skateboard should I get if I’m 5-6?

The ideal size for a skateboard is dependent on your height and weight. If you’re 5’6″ (167 cm) or shorter than most people who want to ride one, then the 29-inch boards are perfect.

They provide ample space so that skaters can kick their legs out when landing tricks without causing any harm done towards themselves because it’s wider compared with other similar-sized models available on market today.

What size skateboard should I get if I’m 6ft?

Here’s a list of heights to skateboard sizes that you should consider. If your height is 4ft 6in or shorter, choose a 7″ board; from 5’6″-7′.25″, go with the bigger size – 8″.
