Longboard Dancing Trick Tips-Advanced Longboarding

Longboard dancing is a great way to meet people, and show off your skills. There are many competitions for longboarding dancers near me! These can be anything from street contests where you do tricks around people, or just in the streets. Competitions are really fun because it lets you practice your skills, but also show them off!

Longboarding is a great way to take your mind off of things that are stressing you out. Longboards can be really relaxing and let you clear the head after a long day at work or school, making it easier for those busy days ahead.

Picking The Right Board

Choosing the right type of board for Longboard Dancing is very important! You want something small so you can dance with it, but not too small like a mini-cruiser. Picking one that is around 30 inches long ensures that you will be riding what most people do for Longboarding tricks.

Other fun things to do with your board

You can do more than just dance on your board! One of my favorite things to do is from the movie known as The Romantics, where they have an awesome surfing scene. It’s really cool, and it looks like so much fun!

So, what makes a perfect longboard for dancing?

Size: You want something around 30 inches long so it is easier to get your balance for dancing.

Shape: A smaller board makes it easier to get your balance while dancing, but a longer one will definitely be easier for tricks and learning how to ride! So if you are planning on doing tricks too, then it’s best to stick to a bigger board.

Wheels: Wheels are going to determine your speed, and how easy it is for you to turn when dancing with your longboard. A smaller one with soft wheels will be easier to dance with, but a larger one with hard wheels will go faster, and make turning much smoother.

Boards that work well for dancing :

*Larger boards, soft wheels, and good trucks. This will ensure that your board can easily turn, but is still able to go fast when dancing.

*Smaller boards, smooth wheels with average trucks for speed. This is easier for tricks than the previous option since it’s smaller and has smoother turning. It also gives you plenty of speed to get up hills or go pretty fast.

*If you find a board that suits your needs then it’s great! Longboard dancing is all about having fun, and finding what works for YOU!

So where can I learn longboard dancing?

If you would like to dance at the skatepark or in your backyard there are plenty of ways to learn. Every social media site has its own tutorials for YouTube, and no matter what platform you choose to start your journey on there will always be more resources than time.

What should I exercise if I want to do Longboard Dancing??

Sliding: You definitely will need to know how to slide before trying out any of the actual dances. This will help you to get used to holding your balance, and making sure that you’re not falling on your butt all the time.

Bunny Hops: Bunny hops are a good way for getting comfortable with moving around on your board. They will also let you know if you should start with a larger board, or a smaller one.

Shuffling: Shuffling is what you will do when you are dancing. It’s great for longboards because it’s easy to get your balance while doing it! You can also learn how to slide with this move so that you have even more control over where your board is going.

Squatting: We all know how to squat, but have you ever actually tried doing it on a moving surface? This is another one of the Longboard Dancing positions.

Tips for beginners :

Longboarding is very similar to skateboarding in some ways. They are both sports that you can do alone or with friends! If you want to learn everything quickly I recommend finding a place that has lessons. If you like to learn things on your own it’s best to find someone who is experienced and willing to help you!

While longboarding can be very fun, it also requires a great degree of balance and skill. It’s not as difficult to learn than people make it out to be, but like anything else in life – practice makes perfect.

Your local skate shop will be able to help you get started, but there are also many videos and tutorials on the Internet that can teach you Longboard dancing. It is a really fun sport that I have been doing for years, and I hope that it becomes a regular activity for you too!

What longboard tricks should you learn first?

First of all, you need to know how to get your balance. A kick out is a great way to escape from any unwanted situation. It involves extending one leg outwards while on your board.

You will also want to learn how to turn left and right. For turning I recommend doing a carve, which involves leaning into one side of your board. This will let you turn on a dime, and keep all of the momentum that you’ve worked so hard to get!

Now it’s time for some fun!! You can always try any trick that seems interesting! It can be difficult to start out with lots of tricks, but don’t let yourself get discouraged. I recommend just getting used to your board and learning how to do a slide before you start trying any of the harder tricks.

*Carving: This is an awesome way to turn on your longboard! For carvings, lean into one side of your board and it will make a “V” shape as it turns!

*Freeriding: The main idea behind freeriding is that the rider only uses his feet for balance. You can lean on your board or you can stand in the middle depending on your comfort level.

*Freestyle: Making up your own tricks is a lot of fun with freestyle!! You can combine anything you want in any order, and if it looks good – then you can call it “freestyle”. It’s all about having fun!

Trucks and wheels for dancing

In order to be a skilled longboard dancer, you’ll need reverse kingpin trucks that are more turnable than your typical cruising ones. Higher angles (50º+) and open bushing seats allow the board to spin faster despite its large wheelbase 30″+. Wheels around 70-74mm provide traction while carving as well hot stepping with either relatively soft 80A or firmer 86A rating if desired for street tricks too!

Thank you for reading this article! I hope that it gave you a better idea about the longboard dancing world!
