What Skateboards Are Good For Beginners

Skateboards are a great way for beginners to get into the sport of skating. They are easy to maneuver and provide a great way to learn the basics of skating. Additionally, skateboards are relatively inexpensive compared to other sports equipment, making them a great option for budget-minded beginners.

Whether you’re looking to cruise around your neighborhood or learn some basic tricks at the skate park, a skateboard is a great option for getting started in skating.

Globe Skateboards ‘Big Blazer Cruiser’

Budget Pick

Complete Skateboard, 32-Inch: Sports & Outdoors

If you’re looking for a complete skateboard that is ready to ride right out of the box, the Globe Big Blazer Cruiser is a great option. It’s ideal for beginners thanks to its simple design and easy-to-use components. The cruiser comes with everything you need to get started skating, including a deck, trucks, wheels, and bearings. Additionally, the Big Blazer comes with a bonus set of Globe Abec 3 bearings to ensure smooth riding.

CCS Complete Blank Skateboard

Deck width 7 inches:

The CCS Complete Blank Skateboard is a great option for beginners who want a high-quality complete board without spending a lot of money. The blank deck is made from 7-ply maple wood and features a medium concave shape that is ideal for learning to skate. The board comes with CCS brand trucks and wheels, as well as Abec 5 bearings.

The trucks are strong and will last for years of abuse. They’re perfect if you want to learn how skateboards work, because they have plenty of grip but aren’t so hard that it’s difficult at first glance!

Stoked Complete

Cruiser Skateboard, 31″

The Stoked Complete Cruiser Skateboard is another great option for beginners. It’s a smaller board that is easy to maneuver, making it perfect for learning the basics of skating. Additionally, it comes with everything you need to get started, so you can hit the ground skating without having to worry about purchasing additional gear.

The Paris trucks are well-made and can handle abuse. It will take some time before you break in the bushings, but if that’s what is needed for your first board then it’ll do nicely!

The bearings will last longer than expected and the wheels are great for stability. The deck of this skateboard has an amazing grip, which makes it perfect to cruise around town or go down hills with no problem!

How to Choose A Beginner Skateboard

To be a successful skateboarder, you need wheels. The right size and shape will make all the difference in how well your board performs for yourself on any given day or hour-long session!  Look for a complete that comes with soft wheels. This will make it much easier to control your board and avoid those pesky speed wobbles.

The deck is the next most important factor. You want a deck that is made of high-quality materials and is the right size for you. Avoid decks that are too big or too small, as they will be more difficult to control.

Finally, make sure the trucks and bearings are of good quality. This will ensure that your skateboard lasts for years to come.

Are normal skateboards good for beginners?

There are a lot of different types of skateboards out there, so it really depends on what you’re looking for. In general, though, normal skateboards (without any extra bells and whistles) are good for beginners because they’re relatively easy to control and maneuver.

If you’re just starting out, I would recommend going with a standard skateboard deck size (about 32 inches long and 8.5 inches wide). And as for the wheels, I would go with something in the range of 50-60mm in diameter – that should give you a good balance between speed and control. Hope that helps!

Is 7.75 skateboard too small?

It depends on your height and weight. A 7.75 skateboard might be too small for someone who is taller or heavier than average. For most people, a 7.75 skateboard should be just right.

Are Penny boards good for beginners?

Penny boards are a great beginner’s board because they are small and lightweight, which makes them easy to control. They also have a smooth ride, which is great for beginners who are just starting out.

Keep in mind that penny boards are not the best boards for doing tricks. If you’re looking to do more advanced maneuvers, you may want to consider a different type of board. But if you’re just looking for a basic board to help you get started, penny boards are a great option.
